Gadi, the Marathi psychological thriller backed by Anurag Kashyap, is set to premiere at the Dharamshala International Film Festival. Zoom’s October 12 report carries the premiere news, while the festival’s official programme confirms the film’s selection among its feature narratives.
The October 12 development concerns the announced festival appearance. The screening is still ahead: the festival’s official website confirms that its 15th edition runs from October 29 to November 1, 2026, at Tibetan Children’s Village in Upper Dharamshala.
A debut built around uncertainty
Rohan Pingal makes his feature directorial debut with Gadi. According to NewsBytes’ October 12 report, he also wrote the film, whose producers include Ranjan Singh, Kashyap and Rajendra Pingal.
The story centres on a grieving father in a small Konkan village who confronts questions of free will. Raj Sane leads a cast that includes Kishore Kadam, Shirish Kulkarni, Shabnam Nad and Hadelin De Ponteves. NewsBytes reports that the film was shot mostly in black-and-white across Konkan and coastal Maharashtra.
The official programme lists a running time of 77 minutes. For audiences following Marathi independent cinema, the selection provides a concrete opportunity to encounter Pingal’s debut in a festival setting. The sources checked establish its festival appearance, without supplying a wider theatrical or streaming release date.
