Directors & actors · Talks scheduled for 11 October 2026 · Announced 7 September

BFI has scheduled Screen Talks with Robert Eggers and Javier Bardem for 11 October. Eggers’ session looks ahead to Werwulf, which BFI lists for a 1 January 2027 opening. Bardem’s appearance accompanies his festival films The Beloved and Bunker.

Why it catches our eye: a conversation with a director or actor offers another way into cinema — how an atmosphere is built, how a character takes shape, and why a filmmaker returns to certain ideas. These talks are a welcome companion to the festival’s screenings.
